Re: revs per minute
well usually it's the tranny + power in the car.
like with the dx tranny with the d15b2 id put it a little higher around 3500 and you would launch a little better.. but with my a6 with the si tranny i like putting it around 3500 - 4000k it also depends on air pressure, suspension, tire type. and a whole lot of different variables like street/strip.

on my old dohc zc i had to launch it around 4500 too.

Re: revs per minute
depending on the weather. if it's cold, i launch at a higher RPM vs hot.
but generally tire pressure at 20-25psi on street tires.
cold day, i'll preload and build up boost and then launch at 3500...on a hot day, i'll launch at 3000.
thought mines is a RWD turbo and i got somore regular Fuzion HRI ( they warm up loose traction fast.) usually the fastest time will be eitehr my 2nd or third run...so i cant' really get consistent times..
best i ever did was 14.78

Re: revs per minute
I haven't really tried, but I think my best bet would be around 3k, any more and I get too much wheelspin...

Re: revs per minute
lol my car is fine now. it works again. just waiting for another swap. if i go any higher my wheels wont grip. i think theyre too big.. anyways. i have the d15b1 right now with the gen 4 si tranny. should i be launching higher? i feel that the higher it goes the more the wheels will spin til it actually grips.. iono. ive been trying with this motor but its not as strong as the b2 i had before i broke it lol. even then. with that much damage to the old motor it still had more power than the b1. its cool tho just trying to have some fun with this one before the next one.

Re: revs per minute
usually with the larger tire more diameter of wheel means you would need more power to spin it..
how big are your tires and what kind of tire? cause in my old car before i swapped the b2 for the dohc zc i had 13s on it.. with a dx tranny.. i usually put it at 3500 and it did a damn good job at launching. if your using the si tranny id put it at 3500 and lower the tire pressure around 25-30psi and see what it does.. but if your not running slicks there isnt any point of doing a burn out.. just drive around the water box so you dont have any water on the tires.. and launch it like that.

Re: revs per minute
exactly what does it do when you launch it.. does it just spin or does the rpms drop then kick back up?
