to do list:
finish drilling 2 holes for the tranny crossmember support after DDj's drill recharges
secure tranny crossmember
install driveshaft
inspect play
finish re-wrapping the ls1 engine harness
connect fuel filter/pressure regulator to fuel rail
connect evap canister to purge solenoid
find an intake elbow, 3 1/2 inches, and route MAF
find KN air filter kit for a 99 camaro
resolve connection problem with alternator (connector got cut off the harness)
plug in wire harness


Start engine.

tranny crossmember is in
driveshaft is in, but the bolts for the shaft-pinion flange, are stripped.

fc driveshaft bolts are 15 mm long 10x1.5 bolts btw, with lock washers

radiator hoses in,
90% of harness is plugged in
still missing driveshaft bolts.
need to extend connector harness by another 10 inches.
need to change location of transmission harness

lost:
fuel tank pressure sensor
water temp sensor.

need:
(4) 15mm 10x1.5 bolts
alternator power connector
New stupid MAF, the 1 i bought has the wrong connectors on it
1 hose clamp for radiator
new stupid heater hoses, kragen gave me the wrong part numbers
fuel line connector for outlet of fuel filter

To do:
more wiring and splicing
mount and finish wiring obd2 port
mount and wire check engine light
wire fan.
modify fan shroud, remove 1/2 inch around.
mount and hook up shifter.
connect fuel evap canister to purge solenoid
figure out how to wire the fuel evap system. (got an idea, need to test out, but requires running car)

need more coffee.
this'll be my 2nd all nighter, 3rd partial.
i need this car up and running!!!

any help would be appreciated. just call me.

sorry I couldnt help out as of yet.... my ladies fam was over saturday.... and on the day I was planning on going "sun" was nikki's moms birthday....

this sounds just like when my boy threw an ls1 in his fc..... he spent 7 grand all together and "planned" it out... I told him a project is a project and there will always be "punch the wall" moments.... he planned a few days but got a few months......

whatever you do..... Dont rush....your going to want to make sure the car will be as reliable if not more reliable than stock....

like I told my friend.. expect a slightly long process. if you wanted it quick and simple a stock 13b would have done the trick....

let me know if you need more help later on today...

technically, the engine could've been in on wednesday other than a problem we had with bolts.

now its all of the little stuff.

i went to sleep at 5 am, sambo just woke me from a really beautiful

ok, update day 6 part 2
Wiring, almost completely done.
Check Engine Light wired.
more plugs plugged in. Have to figure out how to reach the Camshaft Position Sensor behind the intake. need smaller hands, or longer fingers
Driveshaft, bolts in, and figured out why the driveshaft bolts were stripped.
Intake piping, completed.

Missing quick disconnects to relocate fuel filter,
will go to Chase or Napa ASAP tomorrow morning.
need to hook up transmission cooler and lines. have lines, have cooler. need to do labor.

need to get a longer positive battery cable to reach the starter. gotta go to a car sterio place to get 1 or 2 gauge wire. need about 8 feet so i can rout ethe wire safely to the starter.

need to wire OBD2 port.

need to wire battery ground, engine ground, and ecu ground.

with 1 or 2 people helping, and if i run the parts, i should be able to get to all american around 10 am under the car's own power.

wanted to keep the stock hard lines because of the bead on the end of
lines. the bead prevents the line from slipping off. the tool to make

Ok, I crawled under the car just for you guys Its Time: Danhtao's Engine Swap Announcement - Page 2 Biggrin and looked through the receipts that I could find.

Setup as follows

Filter - NAPA 3737 - $45

(3) 3/8" Fuel Quick Disconnects - NAPA 730-4927 (Wrong? Outdated? Couldn't find them), Dorman 800-121 - $10 ea = $30

(1) 5/16 Fuel Quick Disconnects - NAPA 730-4926 (Wrong? Outdated? Couldn't find them), Dorman 800-120 - $10

(12 overkill?) 3/8 Fuel clamps - Ideal 52F16v - $2.20 4pkg = $6.60

(4) 5/16 Fuel clamps - Ideal 52F15v - $2.20 4pkg = $2.20

(6 ft.) 3/8 FI hose - ~$5/ft = ~ $30
You could get away with 5 ft, but I used a chunk for hard line protection.

(2 ft.) 5/16 FI hose - ~ $5/ft = ~ $10

12" quick disconnect hard line - NAPA 730-4931 – $13.50, Dorman 800-155 ?, Dorman 800-159 - ?
I had the NAPA one, but it seemed a bit loose and my Advanced Auto
store only had the 800-159 which is a 2pack with a 5/16 and 3/8. I
can’t find the receipts for Dorman right now, but I’ll post them if I
find them.

3/8 compression fitting – NAPA 62 X 6 ? - $5

Total = ~138.80

ok, project is on hold for a quick week.
i'm in Rowland Heights in Socal right now (kinda by Whittier and Alhambra and West Covina)
its the 2nd half of the seminar that i attended last month
and then next week, i need to study my ass off to prepare for my comprehensive exam to allow me to keep on taking classes
