When is it starting up again? Spring 2009, right? I'm looking to join in with the n00b crew. Was supposed to start this year, but mechanical problems prevented me.

I went to my cousins house and tried on his bike helmets and found out Im a medium in hjc helmets. My head fits perfectly because the helmet is made for round heads and I have a round ass head haha.

I think the autocross season starts in april. I forget where I heard from though.

helmets are all made differently. arai, for example, have different models and style. those models are based on the shape of the head and each model have a different fit and feel. with me, i can't wear arai's more popular model, the quantum 2, because of my head shape. what fits good to me is their model rx-7 corsair.
arai is built to have better ventilation and shoei is known for having less noise.
these are only 2 brands and there's so many out there. you want a helmet that'll protect your dome the best. there are cheaper brands out there that have a higher level of impact absoption.
in "motorcyclist" magazine they had an article that said that a softer polycarbonate DOT-only approved helmet could provide the highest levels of protection.
IMO, though, if you only plan to use a helmet for autocross, just buy a cheap one. it doesn't even have to be a full face helmet. 3/4 is fine as long as it's DOT or SNELL approved.

SNELL98 SA or SM I think is still ok. DOT is no longer approved for autocross. My helmet is rated SA2005.
